Anyiko Owoko, East Africa’s Leading Music Publicist and Media Personality to Speak at NECLive9

With only a few weeks to the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive), ID Africa confirms Anyiko Owoko as one of the speakers for the event.

She juggled jobs between the BBC Nairobi Bureau as a broadcast assistant and Kenya’s National Broadcaster as a TV host during her undergraduate days. With diverse work experience, Anyiko rose to become one of Africa’s most influential women in music, with a knack in promoting artists.

Themed Sustaining The Africa Momentum, NECLive9 returns as a hybrid event and will hold on Friday, April 29 at Landmark Event Centre in Lagos and simultaneously broadcast live on Hip TV (DStv and GOtv) and online platforms. 

The show will involve panelists, speakers, and live performances by artistes as key players in the African entertainment and creative industry pour their thoughts on how the industry can build on the progress made so far.

 Sports TV Presenter, Mozez Praiz Joins List of Speakers at NECLive9

As the African entertainment industry gears up for another exciting ninth edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive), ID Africa confirms Mozez Praiz as one of the speakers of the reputed largest entertainment and creative gathering in West Africa.

Known for his engaging and galvanising TV presentations, Praiz is the anchor of Naija Made, a DStv sports programme focused on the Nigerian premier league.

Mozez Praiz was employed by SuperSport in 2007 as a production coordinator but has since made his mark as a vivid presenter.

Busola Tejumola, Executive Head of Content at MultiChoice Confirmed as NECLive9 Speaker 

Dr Busola Tejumola has been confirmed as one of the speakers for this year’s Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive) which will hold as a special hybrid event on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Tejumola is the Executive Head of Content and West Africa Channels at MultiChoice, a role that allows her to drive the end to end development and execution of content strategy for MultiChoice Nigeria including the Africa Magic and Akwaaba Group Channels, strongly contributing to the growth and bottom-line of the business.

She holds a PhD in Management Information Systems from Brunel University, London and will be speaking on issues related to the theme of the conference:  “Sustaining The Africa Momentum” 

The conference will explore how African creatives and entertainers can use digital media and technology tools to build sustainable economic power for themselves, the industry, and their nations, opportunities via communities of Africans in the diaspora and social impact and development through entertainment.

Rwandan Gospel Singer and TV Host, Aline Gahongayire to Speak at NECLive9 

ID Africa has confirmed that Rwandan gospel singer, Aline Gahongayire, will be speaking at the ninth edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive).

Aline Gahongayire is an award-winning artiste from Kigali, Rwanda, known for her inspirational and spirit-filled songs. The songwriter is famed for her powerful singing voice.

Aside from music, she has also featured in the educational Christian movie ‘Ikigeragezo cy’ubuzima.’ Gahongayire is also a TV host and the founder of Ineza Initiative- a giving back to the community project which focuses on touching the lives of women and children.

For the highly anticipated entertainment conference, speakers and participants will discuss the theme “Sustaining The African Momentum.” focusing on economic power for self and country, opportunities via communities of Africans in the diaspora and social impact and development through entertainment.

According to Aline Gahongayire, “Today, with the growth of the African culture and creative industry, a global visibility of African artistes, and the involvement of the African diaspora, it is imperative to value more of our artistes and the art industry as a whole, to change the African narratives. We need to rethink our policies, empower creators, and develop new strategies for them to access funding easily.”

Tunde Onakoya, Founder of Chess in Slums Africa to Speak at NECLive9

Tunde Onakoya, the founder of Chess in Slums Africa will speak at the biggest and longest-running entertainment conference in West Africa, Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive).

The conference which is in its ninth edition will return as a hybrid event on Friday, April 29, 2022, at Landmark Event Centre.

Onakoya has been using the Chess in Slums initiative to provide help to children living in slums. In 2021, Neusroom did a special report released in a series detailing the stories of some of the children and adults living under the bridges in Oshodi who have benefitted from the initiative.

Comedian and Social Activist, Mr Macaroni Confirmed to Speak at NECLive9

Actor and comedian, Adebowale ‘Mr Macaroni’ Adebayo, has been confirmed as one of the speakers for this year’s Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive) which will hold as a special hybrid event on Friday, April 29, 2022.

Mr Macaroni who has been combining activism with comedy will take to the floor to speak on issues related to the theme of the conference: “Sustaining The Africa Momentum” 

The skit-maker and actor is fast becoming an important figure in the creative space. He is an AMVCA  nominee for Best Online Content Creator and has amassed millions of followers on his social media platforms.

Bolanle Olukanni to Host NECLive for Second Consecutive Year

ID Africa has announced media personality, Bolanle Olukanni, as the host for the ninth edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference, NECLive.

Bolanle Olukanni is a TV host and filmmaker known for hosting Project Fame West Africa, The Juice and Moments with Mo. She hosted NECLive8 in 2021 becoming the first woman to do so and will be reprising the role at Landmark Event Centre in Lagos where the conference will take place on Friday, April 29, 2022. NECLive9 will be simultaneously broadcast live on Hip TV (DStv and GOtv) and online platforms. 

In 2017, the filmmaker directed and produced her first documentary titled “God’s Wives”, which received a nomination for Best Documentary at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

As African creators, producers, musicians, and other proponents of the continent’s entertainment and creative industry prepare for the ninth edition of Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive), the conference organizers, ID Africa have announced MTV Base as one of the media partners of NECLive9.

NECLive will return as a hybrid event on Friday, April 29, 2022, and MTV Base, a 24-hour music channel and youth entertainment brand, will provide media support through their prestigious media platforms to reach millions across the continent and beyond.

Since its inception in 2013, NECLive has been pivotal in driving the industry’s success by engaging relevant bodies and key players. This year’s edition, themed Sustaining The Africa Momentum, will have key players in the entertainment industry share their experiences, ask thought-provoking questions, brainstorm and seek to proffer solutions to the challenges facing the industry, and ensure the sustainability of the progress being made.
